1) I believe that my most successful piece of art has to the ocean and the boat that I did for the pressure theme. I think its my best one because on the other ones I just picked something that I thought was easy to complete rather than the boat which took a lot of time and effort because I had to cut out 2 pieces. This artwork, as I stated in one of my previous blogs, is something that I took from my life and applied it to my artwork. I love the beach/ocean and have always felt that it was part of me and I wanted to express that in my Pressure theme artwork. 2) The project that I felt that I overcame the most obstacles was my Man/Machine project. It was the most difficult in my opinion because I had started on a piece of work and had a lot of progress on it but I didn't like how it was coming out so I had to start over. I don't regret starting over because I was very pleased with my second piece of work and how it came out. 3) The 2 pieces of work that show my growth as an artist are Interior/Exterior and Pressure. My Interior/Exterior project showed my growth because I was able to advance my skills using the chalk pastels and blending them to make different shades of colors. I will say that "El Mango" came out pretty good; I was satisfied with how the blending of colors came out. On the other hand my Pressure project helped me grow as an artist because I got better at cutting the block and creating objects with it. The waves that I cut out came out exactly as I wanted them to come out, although I will say that I should have printed my boat in a different location but oh well it still came out kool. 4) I was really appreciative of the opportunity to get to pick what I wanted to do and how I would do it. Having little restrictions was really helpful in expanding my creativity and giving me more choices. For example, when I'm given limitations on what I can and can't do, it make me feel restricted and prevents me from exploring new and different ways to create art and express myself in the art that I make. Again like I said before, I really like this method of learning/teaching.
